Famous Bakery In Lahore Caught Red-Handed In Power Theft

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Baghbanpura Subdivision has uncovered a major electricity theft case during a raid at Bashir Sweets and Bakers, resulting in losses worth millions of rupees.

According to officials, the bakery was found stealing electricity through a direct supply connection, bypassing the legal meter system. Upon discovery, the LESCO team immediately disconnected the illegal power connection to the premises to prevent further misuse.

The operation was led by Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Baghbanpura under the direct supervision of Superintending Engineer (SE) Eastern Umar Bilal and Executive Engineer (XEN) Baghbanpura Abid Gujar. LESCO confirmed that the raid was part of an ongoing campaign to curb electricity theft across Lahore and ensure fair billing for all consumers.

A company spokesperson said that strict action will continue against individuals and businesses involved in electricity theft, emphasizing that such acts not only cause heavy financial losses to the power sector but also burden honest consumers.

LESCO has recently intensified its anti-theft operations following government directives to improve revenue recovery and reduce line losses. Multiple teams are carrying out inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial areas to identify illegal connections and power pilferage.

Officials added that those caught stealing electricity will face heavy fines and possible legal action under relevant laws. The company urged citizens to report any suspected cases of power theft to help maintain a transparent and efficient electricity distribution system.

The latest action at Bashir Sweets and Bakers highlights LESCO’s commitment to ensuring accountability and maintaining a fair energy network in the region. By cracking down on electricity theft, LESCO aims to protect national resources and promote responsible power consumption among all users.
