ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police has launched new Driving License Services online, allowing residents to apply for learner permits, licence renewals, and duplicate licences without visiting offices for every step.

The digital initiative was introduced on the directions of Islamabad Inspector General of Police Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry. Officials say the new system is designed to save citizens time, reduce waiting at traffic offices, and make licence-related services more accessible.

Residents can now complete several driving licence procedures through the official Islamabad Traffic Police portal from home.

How to Use Islamabad’s Online Driving License Services

Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan said applicants can access the new Driving License Services through the official Islamabad Traffic Police website.

The online portal allows residents to:

  • Apply for a learner driving permit
  • Renew an existing driving licence
  • Request a duplicate driving licence

The service is expected to simplify the application process and reduce unnecessary visits to traffic police offices.

Officials confirmed that these facilities will also be available at Traffic Headquarters Faizabad and other police facilitation centres from Monday, October 19, 2026.

Renewed and Duplicate Licences Will Be Delivered to Your Home

Along with online applications, Islamabad Traffic Police has introduced a home delivery option for renewed and duplicate driving licences.

According to CTO Kainat Azhar Khan, applicants will receive their documents through TCS courier services after completing the required process.

The home delivery facility means many applicants will no longer need to visit traffic police offices just to collect their licence.

Officials believe the service will especially benefit people with busy work schedules or those who prefer completing government services online.

Applicants Must Provide Accurate Information

Authorities have advised residents to enter correct personal details while submitting online applications.

Applicants should carefully provide:

  • Full name
  • Complete residential address
  • Active mobile phone number

Officials warned that incorrect or incomplete addresses could delay courier deliveries. Citizens are encouraged to review their information before submitting their requests.

Islamabad Traffic Police Expands Digital Public Services

The new Driving License Services are part of Islamabad Traffic Police’s broader effort to modernise public services through digital technology.

Officials said the initiative will help reduce paperwork, ease pressure on government offices, and make essential traffic services easier to access.

The department plans to continue improving citizen services by expanding digital solutions that reduce unnecessary office visits while making official procedures faster and more convenient.
