Maryam Nawaz has reaffirmed the commitment of the Punjab government to promoting peace, harmony, and social reforms on the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence.
In her official message, the chief minister said the purpose of observing the international day is to help turn the vision of a peaceful, respectful, and stable world into reality. She stated that peaceful coexistence can only be achieved through tolerance, understanding, and mutual respect among communities.
Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan has strengthened its image as a peace-loving country despite ongoing global crises and tensions. According to her, the country’s positive role in promoting peace and stability is a source of pride for all citizens.
She added that building a united and harmonious society is a shared national responsibility. The chief minister stressed that cooperation, social unity, and respect for diversity are essential for long-term development and stability.
Referring to the situation in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz said the provincial government remains fully committed to maintaining law and order while promoting peaceful coexistence across society.
She claimed that the security situation in Punjab has improved significantly compared to previous years. According to her, the province is now moving toward a more stable and organized environment through consistent reforms and governance measures.
The chief minister also emphasized that every citizen in Punjab has the right to live with dignity, peace, and equal opportunities regardless of religion, ethnicity, language, or social background.
She stated that the provincial government is working to reduce social, sectarian, and cultural tensions through structured policies and long-term initiatives. These efforts are aimed at strengthening harmony and preventing divisions within society.
Maryam Nawaz further said that eliminating extremism, both in thinking and actions, is necessary for promoting peace and coexistence. She explained that education, awareness, and social reforms play an important role in reducing intolerance and violence.
The chief minister also highlighted ongoing initiatives related to women’s empowerment and safety. She said improving protections for women is an important step toward creating a balanced and peaceful society.
According to her statement, legal reforms are also being introduced to prevent violence and improve public safety across different sectors of society. She said these measures are designed to strengthen justice, equality, and social protection.
Maryam Nawaz also referred to the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, stating that Pakistan was created as a state where citizens could live with freedom, dignity, and mutual respect.
