The School Education Department has announced a new Merit-Based Recruitment process for administrative positions in government schools. The initiative includes appointments for Headmaster, Senior Headmaster, and Principal posts in high and higher secondary schools.
According to the departmentโs notification, eligible teachers can submit their applications through the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) portal. Officials said the selection process will remain transparent and competitive.
The recruitment will be conducted through written tests and interviews. The department aims to appoint qualified and experienced candidates for leadership positions in public sector schools.
Under the announced criteria, applicants for the Headmaster position must be eligible for Grade 17 posts. Candidates applying for Senior Headmaster positions will be considered for Grade 18 roles. Principal posts include positions in Grades 19 and 20.
The department has made specific eligibility requirements mandatory for all applicants. Candidates must have at least five years of teaching or administrative experience to apply for these positions.
The written examination will assess candidates on several important areas. These include basic information technology skills, knowledge of government rules, and teaching abilities. Candidates who successfully clear the written test will move to the interview stage.
Officials stated that the entire process will follow the principles of Merit-Based Recruitment. The system is designed to select candidates based on qualifications, experience, and performance rather than other factors.
The School Education Department has also clarified that applications will only be accepted through the online HRMS portal. Applications submitted through postal services or manual methods will not be considered.
The deadline for submitting applications is June 17. Candidates appearing for the written test or interview will not receive any travel allowance or daily allowance from the department.
The department believes that this Merit-Based Recruitment initiative will help improve school administration. By selecting capable educators for leadership roles, authorities expect better management and improved educational outcomes in government schools.
