The Met Office has predicted light rain in the city on the first day of Ramadan. The change in weather is linked to a new western system approaching the country.
According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh western circulation will enter Pakistan on February 17. Deputy Director Anjum Nazir Zaigham said this system may affect weather conditions in the coming days.
The Met Office stated that light rain, drizzle, or brief showers are likely on February 18 and 19. These dates are expected to coincide with the beginning of Ramadan. Officials said skies may remain cloudy or partly cloudy during this period.
Anjum Nazir Zaigham said there is a strong chance of rain on the first day of the holy month. He added that weather conditions will depend on the strength of the incoming system.
The Met Office also forecast thundershowers in several districts of rural Sindh. As the western system moves across the region, scattered rainfall is expected. Some areas may experience gusty winds along with rain.
Weather experts said similar systems are likely to enter the country in March. These westerly wind systems could bring more rainfall to different cities in the coming weeks. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
The Meteorological Department also shared the latest temperature readings. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 18.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The maximum temperature reached 31.6 degrees Celsius on the same day.
Officials said current temperatures remain within the normal range for this time of year. However, cloud cover and rain may cause a slight drop in daytime temperatures.
The Met Office regularly issues forecasts to help citizens prepare for weather changes. Residents are advised to stay updated with official bulletins, especially during Ramadan.
Light rain during the first days of Ramadan may bring some relief from warm conditions. However, authorities have not issued any severe weather warnings so far.
