QUETTA β Mobile data services have been suspended in Quetta for 24 hours starting from midnight last night. The decision was made by the provincial Home Department as part of efforts to maintain law and order in the city.
According to the department, the suspension of mobile data will continue until midnight tonight. Officials said this temporary measure aims to prevent the spread of rumors and misinformation that could cause public unrest.
Authorities stated that restricting mobile data access is a precautionary step to ensure peace and stability in the region. The decision followed a detailed review of the current security situation by senior government officials.
In previous years, similar actions have been taken in other districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, during times of heightened security threats. On several occasions, both mobile and internet services have been suspended for days to safeguard public safety.
The Home Department emphasized that the current suspension is temporary and part of broader efforts to curb any potential disturbances. Residents have been urged to stay calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies during this period.
Officials also mentioned that once the situation normalizes, mobile data services will be fully restored. The government remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of citizens while minimizing disruptions to daily life.
