Mohsin Naqvi Commends Law Enforcement for Preventing PTI’s D-Chowk Protest

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the law enforcement agencies for their effective management of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest at D-Chowk, Islamabad, declaring that a “subversive conspiracy” had been thwarted. Naqvi praised the efforts of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, and police forces from Islamabad, Punjab, and Sindh, who played crucial roles in clearing the area of protesters.

During a visit from D-Chowk to Khyber Plaza, Naqvi met with law enforcement personnel, acknowledging their bravery in repelling the protesters. He highlighted the importance of their work in maintaining peace and order, stating that the protesters had been aiming to create unrest in the capital.

Naqvi also inspected the damage caused by the protesters and directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to begin cleanup operations and remove obstacles from the roads. He expressed gratitude that the situation was brought under control without further escalation.

Late on Tuesday night, the PTI announced the cancellation of its protest in Islamabad after a crackdown by the government. The operation led to the arrest of hundreds of PTI workers, and reports indicated that key figures such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, had retreated to K-P amidst heavy shelling.

Both Naqvi and Information Minister Ataullah Tarar confirmed that the protestors had been dispersed, and they assured the public that normalcy would be restored in the capital. The operation marked a decisive end to the protest, which had initially aimed to march on D-Chowk but was met with strong resistance from law enforcement.
