ISLAMABAD – YouTuber and religious speaker Muhammad Ali Mirza narrowly escaped another violent attack during a public lecture in the capital.
According to reports, the incident happened at the end of the event. A photo session was underway when a young man suddenly approached him. Eyewitnesses said the attacker was allegedly linked to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
The suspect, reportedly from Abbottabad, grabbed Muhammad Ali Mirza by the neck. He allegedly tried to strangle him in front of the audience. Witnesses also claimed that the attacker threw Mirza’s turban to the ground. During the assault, he shouted slogans and raised chants linked to TLP.
People present at the venue quickly intervened. They managed to pull the attacker away before the situation worsened. Mirza was not seriously injured in the incident.
A case has been registered following a complaint by a core committee member of the Quran-o-Sunnat Research Academy. This is the organization founded by Muhammad Ali Mirza. Police have started an investigation into the matter. So far, the leadership of TLP has not issued any official statement regarding the allegations.
This is not the first time Muhammad Ali Mirza has faced violence. In a previous incident, he survived a stabbing attack at his academy. An assailant had attempted to kill him with a knife. He sustained injuries but survived with the help of his supporters.
Muhammad Ali Mirza is known for his strong and direct religious opinions. His lectures often challenge traditional interpretations. He has built a large following on social media platforms. However, his views have also drawn criticism from conservative religious groups.
In the past, Mirza was arrested in an alleged blasphemy case. He spent several months in jail before being granted bail. Even after his release, controversy around his teachings has continued.
