Murree, Ayubia, and nearby regions continue to receive rain, snowfall since last night, ARY News reported on Tuesday, citing local authorities.
Deputy Commissioner Murree, Zaheer Shirazi, visited key locations to monitor the situation. Snow has been cleared from important roads including Mall Road, Lower Topa, Jhika Gali, Kashmir Point, and Pindi Point to ensure safe travel for residents and tourists.
Light rainfall and snow continue in areas such as Guldnah and Kali Matti. The Meteorological Department has warned that these areas are expected to receive rain, snowfall over the next 24 hours.
District administration, police, motorway police, and rescue teams remain on high alert in Murree to manage emergencies and traffic disruptions.
Weather officials also forecast light to moderate rain with winds and thunderstorms, along with snow over hills, in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Potohar region over the next twelve hours. Meanwhile, dry weather is expected in most other parts of Pakistan.
Temperature readings recorded this morning show Islamabad at 11°C, Lahore 14°C, Karachi 21°C, Peshawar 12°C, Quetta 6°C, Murree −1°C, and Muzaffarabad and Gilgit 7°C.
In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of light rain and snow is expected in Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian, Leh, Pulwama, and Baramula. Jammu will experience cloudy weather with light rain.
Morning temperatures in the region include Pulwama and Anantnag at 0°C, Srinagar and Shopian 1°C, Baramula 2°C, Leh −7°C, and Jammu 12°C.
Authorities have urged residents and tourists to remain cautious while traveling in these areas. The regions are expected to receive rain, snowfall intermittently over the next day, making travel challenging but manageable with safety precautions.
