NADRA Fee Increase Is Signaled After Budget 2026–27

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has indicated a possible increase in service charges after the 2026–27 federal budget. The authority has also warned about penalties on certain services.

In a recent statement, NADRA urged citizens to act before the end of June 2026. People were advised to renew expired identity cards and complete child registrations on time. The deadline has been set for 30 June 2026.

Officials said revised charges may be introduced in the new fiscal year. This means people who delay their applications could face higher costs. The authority emphasized early action to avoid financial burden.

Parents were specifically advised to register their children for B-Forms. Those who already have B-Forms were encouraged to upgrade them. Eligible individuals should convert them into Smart National Identity Cards.

The NADRA statement highlighted that delays may lead to penalties. Citizens who fail to complete documentation within the deadline could face extra charges. Authorities also warned of possible legal complications in some cases.

The move is part of broader administrative changes. Earlier, NADRA introduced a new system for firearms licence validity. This was done under the direction of the Ministry of Interior.

Under the old system, all licences expired on 31 December each year. This caused inconvenience for citizens and officials. The updated system aims to improve efficiency and reduce workload.

Officials say these steps are meant to make services more organized. They also aim to ensure better compliance with documentation rules. Public awareness campaigns have been launched to inform citizens.

Experts believe the upcoming changes reflect a shift toward stricter enforcement. They also show a focus on improving service delivery. However, citizens are advised to stay updated and complete their documents early.

The situation highlights the importance of timely registration. It also shows how policy changes can impact everyday services. For now, the key message from NADRA is clear: complete all necessary processes before the deadline to avoid extra costs.
