Pakistan has introduced a new vaccination certificate requirement for passengers travelling abroad from September 14.
The Airport Health Department has made a NADRA-issued vaccination certificate mandatory for all international passengers.
Under the new requirement, travellers must present a valid vaccination card before boarding an international flight. Passengers without the required certificate will not be allowed to board.
The rule will also apply to people travelling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. Pilgrims must obtain the required vaccination certificate before their departure.
Airlines Directed to Check Vaccination Certificates
The Airport Health Department has instructed airlines to verify vaccination documents before allowing passengers to travel.
Airlines must ensure that every international passenger has the required vaccination card. The same verification procedure will apply to Umrah pilgrims.
The certificate must be issued by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Passengers planning international journeys should therefore arrange their documents before reaching the airport.
Vaccination Facility Available for Passengers
Authorities have also introduced arrangements to help passengers who need vaccination before travelling.
The federal government’s civil dispensary has been designated as the sole vaccination centre for this purpose.
Passengers seeking vaccination at the airport should arrive at least six hours before their scheduled departure.
This additional time will allow travellers to complete the vaccination and registration procedures before their flights.
Vaccination services will be provided in the international departure area. The online registration process will also be completed at the same location.
Officials said these arrangements aim to make the process easier for international travellers. They are also intended to reduce delays and inconvenience at airports.
New Rule Takes Effect September 14
The NADRA vaccination certificate requirement will come into effect on September 14.
It will cover passengers travelling internationally, including those departing Pakistan for Umrah.
Travellers are advised to obtain their vaccination certificates before arriving for their flights. Those needing airport vaccination should reach the airport at least six hours early.
