Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is set to strengthen its election campaign in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) as Nawaz Sharif will address a major public rally in Muzaffarabad today. The gathering is part of the party’s preparations for the AJK general elections scheduled for July 27.
Former prime minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif is expected to speak to party workers and supporters during the event. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will also accompany him to the AJK capital and is scheduled to address the rally alongside the party leader.
The rally is being seen as an important stage in the party’s election campaign. PML-N leaders believe the event will help strengthen public support ahead of polling day. The party has been actively campaigning across the region in an effort to secure voter confidence.
Ahead of the gathering, Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah and Federal Minister Amir Muqam visited the rally venue to inspect preparations. They reviewed the arrangements made for the public meeting and assessed the facilities for participants.
Following the visit, both leaders chaired a high-level meeting with party officials. During the meeting, they discussed the party’s election strategy and reviewed the progress of the ongoing campaign. They agreed that campaign activities should be intensified to reach more voters before election day.
The meeting also decided to expand the party’s door-to-door campaign across different constituencies in AJK. Party workers have been instructed to increase public outreach and communicate the party’s message directly to voters.
Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam expressed confidence about the rally. He said today’s public gathering is expected to become one of the largest political events in the history of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, thousands of enthusiastic party supporters are expected to attend the event.
Several senior PML-N leaders are also expected to participate in the rally. These include AJK PML-N President Shah Ghulam Qadir, former AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, Raja Saqib Majeed, Noreen Arif, Chaudhry Shahzad, Mustafa Bashir, Chaudhry Rasheed, Raja Faisal Azad, and Iftikhar Gilani.
These leaders will lead caravans of party workers from different parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to Muzaffarabad. The party hopes the large turnout will demonstrate its organizational strength before the elections.
