PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has assured party workers that upcoming election tickets will be awarded strictly on performance and credibility. Speaking at a meeting with senior party leaders, he said โNawaz vows merit in ticket distribution for AJK, GB pollsโ, emphasizing that personal preferences and internal lobbying will not influence the final list of candidates.
Nawaz Sharif stated that the party aims to rebuild public trust by selecting individuals with a strong track record and clean reputation. He noted that the elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) are important for political stability and development. According to him, only hardworking and loyal members will be considered for party tickets.
Party insiders said Nawaz reviewed performance reports from regional organizations to evaluate potential candidates. He stressed that those who delivered results for their communities would be prioritized. His message was clear: โNawaz vows merit in ticket distribution for AJK, GB pollsโ, and the party must follow democratic and transparent procedures.
During the meeting, several leaders highlighted local challenges, including unemployment, infrastructure gaps, and governance issues. They urged the leadership to field candidates who understand ground realities and can address public concerns effectively. Nawaz agreed, saying that the partyโs future depends on strong representation in both regions.
He also urged party members to focus on unity and discipline ahead of the elections. He warned against internal divisions and said that negative campaigning within the party would not be tolerated. Instead, he encouraged leaders to engage with voters and present a clear development-focused agenda.
Analysts believe the commitment to merit-based ticket distribution may help the party strengthen its position in both AJK and GB. They say the repeated message that โNawaz vows merit in ticket distribution for AJK, GB pollsโ signals a strategic shift aimed at improving party performance and repairing past weaknesses.
