Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has written another letter to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.
He has requested written clarification about an inquiry involving him. He has also sought the immediate return of his mobile phone.
According to Rizwan’s letter, he has not received written details explaining the inquiry.
He also claimed the NCCIA had not contacted him regarding any further proceedings.
Rizwan Seeks Written Details From NCCIA
Rizwan said his mobile phone was taken in England on August 31.
According to his account, he provided the password and allowed officials to access the device.
He said the phone was examined in his presence at the time. Mohammad Rizwan later appeared before the NCCIA on September 10.
He said officials again had access to his unlocked phone during that appearance.
According to Rizwan, officials examined messages and other material stored on the device.
He said he was informed that the phone would be returned within three hours. He was also told that the required digital forensic examination would be completed shortly.
However, Rizwan said the device remains with the agency.
Mohammad Rizwan Rejects Non-Cooperation Claims
The wicketkeeper-batter also rejected suggestions that he had refused to cooperate with investigators.
He maintained that he never declined to provide his phone password. Rizwan said he cooperated whenever the agency requested information from him.
He has now asked the NCCIA to provide written reasons for the inquiry.
He also wants officials to clarify when he is required to appear before the agency again. Rizwan has requested that future communication be made through official channels.
He asked the agency to send further correspondence to his residential address.
Inquiry Reportedly Involves Dressing-Room Leaks
The NCCIA inquiry reportedly involves Rizwan and fellow Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq.
According to the reference account, investigators have examined mobile-phone data during the inquiry. The matter is reportedly linked to alleged dressing-room information leaks during the England Test series.
Reports about Rizwan’s level of cooperation have differed. Sources cited in reports concerning the NCCIA have claimed further phone access is needed for forensic analysis.
Rizwan’s position is that he has already cooperated with the investigation.
He is now seeking formal clarification about the inquiry and any further requirements.
