The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction of Rs2.98 per unit in electricity rates for K-Electric consumers, offering notable financial relief to residents of Karachi.
This cut, implemented through the monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) mechanism, will be reflected in the upcoming bills and is exclusively applicable to K-Electric users.

Meanwhile, electricity prices have gone up by 93 paisas per unit for consumers in other parts of the country under the same FCA policy, excluding Karachi from this increase.
As inflation continues to rise across Pakistan, most citizens are facing increased electricity costs—while Karachi residents temporarily benefit from this price drop.
NEPRA has officially released notifications confirming both the reduction for K-Electric and the hike for the rest of the country.
