KARACHI: The Sindh College Education Department has announced revised College Timings for all government colleges across the province. The updated schedule will come into effect from August 1 and applies to both morning and evening shifts.
According to an official notification, the department has introduced separate working hours for morning and evening classes. The revised timetable is part of the province’s updated academic schedule and must be followed by all government colleges.
Under the new College Timings, morning classes will begin at 8:30 am. Colleges will remain open until 1:30 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Students and teachers have been instructed to follow the revised schedule from the effective date.
The notification also includes a separate timetable for Friday. On that day, the morning shift will end earlier at 11:30 am to accommodate weekly arrangements.
The evening shift will operate from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on regular working days. However, Friday will have different hours. Evening classes on Friday will run from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, according to the official schedule.
Officials said the revised College Timings are intended to ensure a uniform schedule for government colleges throughout Sindh. All institutions under the department have been directed to implement the new working hours without delay.
The Sindh College Education Department issued the notification as part of its revised academic planning. College administrations are expected to inform students, teachers, and staff about the updated schedule before it takes effect.
Students attending morning sessions should ensure they arrive before the new starting time of 8:30 am. Those enrolled in evening programs should also note the revised timings, especially for Friday classes.
Education authorities have advised college administrations to display the new timetable on campus notice boards. Institutions are also expected to communicate the revised schedule through official channels to avoid confusion.
The latest notification applies only to government colleges managed by the Sindh College Education Department. Private educational institutions may continue following their own approved schedules unless separate instructions are issued.
