The Punjab government is implementing significant measures to combat fraud, with the Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) approving the digitization of the E-Stamp Paper System. This decision was made during a board meeting led by Senior Member Nabeel Javed.
Key officials, including Malik Abdul Waheed and Khalid Saleem, reviewed and approved 14 agenda items, such as reorganizing colony branches across Punjab. A committee was also established to evaluate extending lease periods for government land allocated to agricultural graduates, with recommendations expected in two weeks.
The board approved reforms in the tax department to improve tax collection and enhance the BoR’s internal audit system, focusing on transparency in managing government land, recovering dues from unauthorized occupants, and auditing properties.
Transparency will be prioritized in the auction and leasing of government land, with all information made available online. The board also considered a proposal to shift to a digital and paperless registration system.
