Power Division Pakistan Confirms No Electricity Price Hike in June, Consumers To Get Relief

Electricity consumers across the country have received relief as the Power Division announced that there will be stability in power rates. Officials confirmed that there will be No electricity price increase in June due to timely policy measures.

According to the spokesperson, the governmentโ€™s actions helped prevent additional financial pressure on consumers. He said there will be No electricity tariff hike in the upcoming billing cycle, despite challenges in fuel supply.

The Power Division explained that consumers were protected from a monthly fuel adjustment burden of around Rs5 to Rs6 per unit. Even with LNG supply issues and the use of expensive furnace oil, the government avoided passing extra costs to users.

Officials said electricity consumers were saved from a possible financial impact of Rs38 billion. The monthly fuel adjustment was limited to an increase of only Rs1.73 per unit.

The spokesperson added that stable policies and improved energy management helped maintain balance in the power sector. He noted that increased demand and relief packages also contributed to stability in pricing.

He further said that additional domestic gas supply and electricity generation from imported coal plants helped reduce load management issues. These steps ensured better supply during peak demand periods.

In the first quarter, consumers also benefited from a significant refund. Officials confirmed that Rs65 billion was returned to users, offering a relief of Rs1.93 per unit.

Due to these adjustments, there will be No electricity price increase in the coming month, according to the Power Division. The quarterly adjustment fully offset monthly fuel cost impacts.

Authorities also indicated that the reference tariff is expected to remain stable next month. In fact, a further reduction of around 20 paisas per unit may also be possible.

Officials said the government remains committed to protecting consumers from sudden price shocks. They emphasized that ongoing reforms in the energy sector are aimed at ensuring long-term stability.

The announcement has brought relief to millions of households already dealing with inflation. Consumers are expected to benefit from predictable electricity costs in the coming billing cycle.
