The OGRA has announced an increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for August. The revised rates came into effect at the start of the month.
According to an official notification issued by OGRA, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs12.89 per kilogram. Following the latest revision, the official LPG price now stands at Rs254.32 per kg.
The regulator also revised the price of the standard 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder. Under the new rates, consumers will now pay Rs3,000.92 for a household cylinder during August.
The updated prices will remain in force throughout the month unless a new notification is issued. OGRA releases monthly LPG price adjustments based on the approved pricing mechanism.
The latest increase means households using LPG for cooking and heating will face higher monthly expenses. LPG is widely used in many urban and rural areas where natural gas is unavailable or limited.
