Security forces have launched an operation against three foreigners hiding at Wana Cadet College, security sources confirmed on Monday.
According to initial reports, the suspects are believed to be from Afghanistan. Officials said they had been receiving instructions from across the border through phone calls. The foreigners are currently hiding in one of the college’s buildings, which is located away from the main residential area for cadets.
Security officials stated that the building’s clearance process is being carried out with great care and expertise. Forces are ensuring the safety of students and staff while maintaining tight control over the area.
The operation follows a major incident on November 10, when a vehicle filled with explosives rammed into the main gate of Cadet College Wana. The explosion destroyed the gate and damaged nearby structures. No casualties among cadets were reported, but the blast caused significant panic in the surrounding area.
Officials said that additional security personnel have been deployed around the campus to prevent any further attacks. The situation remains tense, and entry to the area has been restricted as the operation continues.
Security sources emphasized that the mission will continue until all terrorists are neutralized. They added that intelligence teams are tracing the network behind the suspects and their links to groups operating from Afghanistan.
Wana Cadet College, located in South Waziristan, is an important educational institution for young cadets from across the region. Authorities have assured that the safety of students and staff remains their top priority as the security operation proceeds.
