Finally! Pakistani Airports Getting A Feature Travelers Have Long Wanted

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has announced plans to install Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) at airports across the country. The move aims to provide travelers with easy access to cash and modern banking services, improving convenience and efficiency for both domestic and international passengers.

According to the PAA, several banks have been invited to set up ATMs at major airports, including Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. The decision is part of the authority’s broader effort to upgrade airport facilities and enhance the overall passenger experience.

The installation of ATMs will allow travelers to withdraw cash, check balances, and perform other banking transactions within airport terminals. This step is expected to particularly help international passengers who often face difficulties accessing local currency upon arrival.

The initiative will not be limited to major airports. Smaller airports such as Peshawar, Quetta, Sukkur, Gwadar, Skardu, and Gilgit are also included in the plan. This marks a significant step toward improving financial accessibility and modernizing airport infrastructure across Pakistan, even in remote regions.

In recent months, the PAA has introduced several modernization projects to align with the government’s digital transformation goals. Among them is the introduction of biometric e-gates at key airports, which aim to streamline the check-in and boarding process.

Officials stated that the installation of ATMs complements these digital initiatives, ensuring passengers have access to necessary financial services throughout their travel journey. The authority believes the project will also strengthen partnerships between airports and the banking sector, promoting financial inclusion and convenience.

With this development, travelers in Pakistan will soon experience greater comfort and accessibility at airports nationwide, marking another milestone in the PAA’s commitment to modernizing the country’s aviation facilities.
