Sardar Arsam Abbas Achieves Top Recognition As Best Foreign Cadet in Australia

The Australian Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon has honored Pakistan Army Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas with a major international distinction. He was named best as the “Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet” during the passing out parade held in Canberra on 5 May 2026.

This prestigious award is given to the top-performing foreign cadet across all areas of military training. The recognition highlights strong discipline, leadership, and professional excellence. Officials said the achievement reflects the high standards of the Pakistan Army’s junior leadership.

Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas was also named best among all foreign cadets for his overall performance throughout the training program. His success has been widely acknowledged as a moment of pride for Pakistan.

The commissioning parade was reviewed by Australian Chief of Army Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, AO DSC. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, including the Pakistani High Commissioner in Canberra. Families of graduating cadets and Australian Defence Force officials were also present.

Pakistan and Australia share a long-standing military training relationship. Since 2009, 46 Pakistani Army cadets have graduated from RMC Duntroon. Since 2013, seven Pakistani officers have also served as platoon commanders at the institution.

This is the 14th time a Pakistani cadet has been named best as the Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet at RMC. The repeated recognition reflects the consistent performance of Pakistani cadets in international military training programs.

Officials also recalled the legacy of Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed, Tamgha-e-Basalat. He embraced martyrdom in North Waziristan on 4 September 2020. His name is inscribed on the memorial stone at the RMC parade ground.

The memorial stands as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and honor. It also represents the strong bond between training excellence and military tradition.

The achievement of Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas, who was named best, further strengthens Pakistan’s reputation in international defense education. It highlights continued success in producing skilled and disciplined military leaders.

The event concluded with recognition of all graduating cadets and appreciation for their dedication and hard work.
