Dubai International Airport (DXB) has reported a significant rise in traffic from Pakistan, with 3.2 million Pakistani travelers recorded in the first nine months of 2025. This makes Pakistan the fourth-largest source market for Dubai Airport.
Dubai Airports attributed the surge to several factors, including strong business connections, family visits, and transit traffic from Pakistanis traveling to Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
The increase comes as Dubai Airport experienced a record-breaking third quarter. Between July and September 2025, DXB welcomed 24.2 million travelers, a 1.9% rise compared to last year. The total for the first nine months reached 70.1 million passengers.
During this period, the airport handled 336,000 flights, with an average of 213 passengers per flight. Operational efficiency remained high, with 99.6% of departing passengers clearing passport control in under 10 minutes and 99.8% of arrivals in less than 15 minutes. This performance reinforces Dubai Airport’s reputation as a key transit hub for South Asian travelers, particularly Pakistanis.
To manage growing traffic, Dubai is investing in infrastructure upgrades. Terminals 1 and 3 are being expanded to accommodate increasing passenger volumes, especially from the South Asian market. These enhancements aim to maintain DXB’s status as a world-class international airport.
In a related development, Dubai’s aviation sector is preparing for a long-term shift. Operations are gradually moving toward Al Maktoum International Airport to handle future air traffic growth. This strategy is part of Dubai’s broader plan to manage increasing passenger volumes and ensure continued efficiency across its airport network.
