According to the message, discarded animal waste often attracts large numbers of birds such as kites, crows, and other scavenging species. These birds gather around exposed waste and frequently move near runways and airfields.
The Pakistan Air Force explained that bird activity near airbases creates dangerous conditions for flight operations. Aircraft are especially vulnerable during takeoff and landing, when pilots have limited time to react to sudden bird movement near runways.
Officials warned that bird strikes can cause severe damage to aircraft engines and other important systems. In some cases, collisions between birds and aircraft can lead to emergency situations and operational disruptions.
The awareness message stressed that even a small increase in bird activity around airbases could affect aviation safety. Authorities said preventing improper disposal of sacrificial waste is an important step in reducing these risks during Eidul Azha.
