ISLAMABAD โ The Pakistan Army has announced an extension in the registration period for the 158 PMA Long Course. The decision has been taken to facilitate students who were unable to complete the process due to their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations.
According to an official announcement, candidates who missed the earlier registration deadline because of their exam schedules can now apply between June 23 and June 30, 2026.
The extension provides an additional opportunity for aspiring candidates who wish to join the Pakistan Army through the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course. Many students had been unable to complete their registration while preparing for or appearing in HSSC examinations.
Officials stated that the revised schedule aims to ensure that eligible students are not deprived of the chance to apply due to academic commitments. The move is expected to benefit a large number of candidates across the country.
The Pakistan Army has also announced special arrangements for applicants who had already completed their registration but could not participate in the initial tests because of their examination schedule.
Such candidates have been instructed to visit their respective Army Selection and Recruitment Centers to appear in the required tests. These tests will be conducted from July 1 to July 15, 2026.
The recruitment centers will facilitate candidates who missed their original test dates due to HSSC examinations. This measure is intended to provide equal opportunities to all applicants.
The PMA Long Course is one of the primary pathways for young individuals seeking a commission as officers in the armed forces. Every year, thousands of candidates apply for admission through a competitive selection process.
Applicants are required to meet educational, physical, and medical standards before progressing through various stages of evaluation. Successful candidates receive training at the Pakistan Military Academy before being commissioned as officers.
The latest extension reflects the armyโs effort to accommodate students facing scheduling conflicts during the examination season. Officials have encouraged eligible candidates to complete their registration before the new deadline.
Candidates who have already registered but missed their initial tests have also been advised to report to their designated recruitment centers within the announced dates.
