Pakistan’s Ambassador to China has received a major diplomatic honour in Beijing. The Pakistan envoy Khalil Hashmi was awarded the “Outstanding Diplomat Medal” by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The ceremony took place at China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Several current and former diplomats from different countries were also recognised. A total of eight ambassadors were honoured for their contribution to international relations with China.
The Pakistan envoy was acknowledged for his efforts in strengthening Pakistan-China relations. Officials said this recognition reflects the growing trust and cooperation between the two countries.
Khalil Hashmi is the first serving ambassador in Beijing to receive this award. He is also the first Pakistani diplomat posted in China to be given this distinction.
The Chinese foreign ministry introduced this award for the first time. It aims to honour diplomats who show outstanding performance and help improve bilateral relations with China.
During the ceremony, the Pakistan envoy expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership. He dedicated the award to his diplomatic team, his family, and officials from both countries.
He also thanked Foreign Minister Wang Yi for his continued support. He appreciated China’s efforts in strengthening regional cooperation and diplomatic engagement.
Hashmi highlighted the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China. He said both countries have supported each other during difficult times and global challenges.
He mentioned major events such as the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. He also referred to cooperation during global health emergencies.
The Pakistan envoy reaffirmed that the friendship between Pakistan and China remains strong and enduring. He described the relationship as deeply rooted and time-tested.
He further said that Pakistan-China relations will continue to grow in the future. Both sides are committed to expanding cooperation in multiple fields.
Officials in Beijing said the award reflects China’s appreciation for diplomatic partners. They added that such recognition encourages stronger international collaboration.
The event concluded with a message of continued friendship and cooperation. Both countries expressed confidence in further strengthening their strategic partnership in the coming years.
