Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed Pakistan’s strong interest in expanding collaboration with China in space technology, satellite communications, and internet services. The statement came during a meeting with a high-level delegation from Chinese space firm Galaxy Space, led by Chairman Xu Ming.
Calling China a “very trusted friend” and “strategic partner,” PM Shehbaz underscored the importance of advancing Pakistan’s space and telecom sectors. He welcomed Chinese investment and joint ventures, particularly those involving Pakistan’s national space agency SUPARCO.

The Galaxy Space delegation showed keen interest in working with local telecom operators and the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, with discussions focused on innovation, connectivity, and space infrastructure.
Key federal ministers and advisors, including Ahad Khan Cheema and Shaza Fatima Khawaja, participated in the talks, which aimed to build on recent milestones—like the successful launch of Pakistan’s first lunar satellite ICUBE-Q, developed with Chinese support.
