Thunderstorms and Rain to Hit Pakistan from Feb 16

ISLAMABAD โ€“ Pakistan is set to experience thunderstorms and rain as a fresh westerly weather system enters the country from February 16. The Meteorological Department has issued forecasts for multiple provinces, warning residents of heavy showers and possible hail.

According to the Met Department, the incoming system will bring rain and thunderstorms starting Monday evening, continuing into Tuesday across several regions. Areas of Balochistan are expected to receive light to moderate rain on February 16 and 17. The Meteorological Department said showers may intensify as the system moves across the province.

Karachi and Sindh to See Rain on February 17


Thunderstorms are forecast in southern Pakistan, including Karachi. The Met Office has predicted rainfall in different areas of Sindh, especially Karachi, on February 17 (Tuesday). Residents are advised to remain alert and take precautions during heavy downpours.

Rain Forecast for KP and South Punjab


Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Waziristan, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), are also expected to see rain and thunderstorms on February 16 and 17. Meanwhile, several areas of south Punjab are likely to experience rain on February 17 as the weather system moves eastward.

Hailstorm Warning Issued


The Meteorological Department has warned of possible hail in DI Khan, DG Khan, and parts of north Balochistan during this weather spell. Officials urged residents to stay cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and secure property that could be damaged during thunderstorms and hailstorms.

With thunderstorms expected to hit multiple provinces, citizens are advised to monitor local forecasts and follow safety instructions issued by the Met Office. These sudden weather changes highlight the importance of preparedness during the winter season.
