Pakistan Remembers Quaid-e-Azam as Nation Marks His 149th Birth Anniversary

KARACHI โ€“ Pakistan observed the 149th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Thursday. The day was marked with a public holiday and nationwide events. People across the country paid tribute to the Founder of Pakistan.

Quaid-e-Azam was born on December 25, 1876, in Karachi. He led the historic struggle that resulted in the creation of Pakistan in 1947. His birth anniversary is observed every year to honor his vision and leadership.

The main ceremony took place at the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam in Karachi. A dignified change of guard ceremony was held in the morning. A military band played ceremonial tunes. The event concluded with the national anthem, creating a solemn atmosphere.

Senior civil and military officials attended the ceremony. They laid wreaths and offered prayers. The event reflected national unity and respect for the Father of the Nation.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued separate messages. Both leaders paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam and his historic role. They described his life as a symbol of determination and principled leadership.

The president said the day reminds the nation of Jinnahโ€™s unwavering belief and tireless struggle. He said Pakistanโ€™s progress depends on following his ideals. The prime minister echoed similar views. He urged the nation to uphold unity, discipline, and faith.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) also released a tribute message. It was issued on behalf of the Armed Forces of Pakistan. Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu were mentioned in the statement.

ISPR said Quaid-e-Azam envisioned a strong and sovereign Pakistan. It highlighted his belief in democracy, constitutional rule, and national unity. The message stated that his principles continue to guide the Armed Forces.

The statement also reaffirmed the militaryโ€™s commitment to protect Pakistanโ€™s sovereignty. It emphasized dedication to peace, stability, and national development. These goals were linked to the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam.

Political leaders and officials said Jinnah stood for justice and equality. They noted that these values remain vital today. They stressed that following his path is essential for national cohesion.
