Pakistan’s armed forces have successfully neutralized 25 Israeli-made Harop drones used by India in recent cross-border activities, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday. The drones were downed using a combination of electronic countermeasures and conventional weaponry after being detected in various locations across Pakistan.
The ISPR described the drone incursions as a desperate move by India following Pakistan’s retaliatory actions, which included downing five Indian fighter jets and attacking several military posts in the wake of Indian airstrikes. The statement also highlighted the recovery of debris from the drones, with losses reported along the Line of Control (LoC).

Pakistan’s military spokesperson further detailed that, on May 7 and 8, Indian drones attempted to infiltrate multiple parts of Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. In total, 12 drones were intercepted, with one causing minor damage to a military target near Lahore. Tragically, four Pakistani army personnel were injured, and one civilian lost their life due to the drone attacks.
In the midst of these developments, Pakistan and India’s National Security Advisers (NSAs) have initiated contact, reportedly aiming for de-escalation. Pakistan’s NSA, Lt General Asim Malik, engaged with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval, though details of the conversation have not been disclosed.
The ongoing exchange of military actions has raised concerns globally, with experts warning that India’s provocations threaten not only regional stability but also global security. Pakistan has made it clear that it will continue to defend its airspace and territorial integrity.
