Pakistan Ranks Higher Than India in the World’s Safest Countries for Travel

Pakistan has surpassed India in Numbeo’s 2025 Global Safety Index, ranking 65th with a score of 56.3, while India closely trailed at 66th with 55.7. The rankings indicate a slight difference in perceived safety between the neighboring nations.

Compiled by Numbeo, a crowdsourced data platform, the report assesses crime levels globally, offering insights into the safest and most dangerous destinations for travelers.

Leading the list is Andorra, a small European nation situated between Spain and France, achieving the highest safety score of 84.7. Other countries in the top five include the United Arab Emirates (84.5), Qatar (84.2), Taiwan (82.9), and Oman (81.7), all known for their strong security measures and low crime rates.

Some major economies ranked lower than anticipated. The United States secured the 89th position with a safety score of 50.8, while the United Kingdom placed 87th. Similarly, Australia ranked 82nd, and New Zealand followed at 86th. France, often considered a secure European country, stood at 110th with a score of 44.6.

Conversely, Venezuela ranked as the most unsafe country, scoring just 19.3, followed by Papua New Guinea (19.7), Haiti (21.1), Afghanistan (24.9), and South Africa (25.3).

Numbeo’s index is derived from user-submitted data and surveys, incorporating factors such as crime rates, theft, robbery, harassment, and violent crimes. While the index offers an overview of global safety trends, the platform emphasizes that its findings are based on public perception rather than official crime reports.
