Good News: Pakistan to Create 95,000 Job Opportunities Soon

Pakistan is set to witness the creation of more than 95,000 job opportunities over the next five to seven years, the Ministry of Planning has projected. These opportunities will emerge from major development projects underway across multiple sectors nationwide.

According to official documents, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved 12 new projects in October 2025 alone. These initiatives cover key areas including energy, water, agriculture, governance, health, and education, highlighting the governmentโ€™s commitment to broad-based national development.

The Ministry of Planning confirmed that six significant development projects have already been forwarded to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval. These projects are expected to create an immediate 2,501 job opportunities in various sectors.

Funding for these projects comes from the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), with Rs330 billion released so far from the Rs1,000 billion annual budget within the first four months of the fiscal year. By October, around 33% of the total funds had been utilized, including Rs134 billion spent across multiple sectors.

Sector-wise breakdown shows substantial spending in infrastructure and transport, energy, water resources, and social services. Out of Rs626 billion allocated for infrastructure, Rs46 billion was used by October. Transport and communication projects utilized Rs25.93 billion of their Rs333 billion budget.

The energy sector, with an allocation of Rs122.65 billion, recorded expenditures of Rs2.54 billion. Water resource projects spent Rs12.95 billion out of Rs97.9 billion, while housing and physical planning projects used Rs4.69 billion from Rs72.73 billion.

In the social sector, which includes health, education, and nutrition, progress has been mixed. Education projects, including the Higher Education Commission, utilized Rs8.97 billion from Rs60.75 billion, while health and nutrition saw limited expenditure. Governance and science & technology sectors also received funding, with modest spending so far.
