Pakistan has urged the UN Security Council to immediately halt Israel’s airstrikes on Iran and hold it accountable for violating international law. During an emergency session, Pakistan’s UN envoy Asim Iftikhar Ahmad called Israel’s actions “unjustified and illegitimate,” highlighting a pattern of aggression in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.

He stressed Iran’s right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter. The meeting, requested by Iran and backed by Pakistan, China, and Russia, saw global consensus for urgent de-escalation.
