Pakistani Beggars Have Started Targeting Iran and Iraq

Iraqi officials have reported that Pakistanis entering Iraq through Iran are involved in drug trafficking, human smuggling, and begging.

They specifically mentioned that Pakistani girls aged 18 to 25 are begging in Iraq, with an estimated 60,000 illegal Pakistani immigrants currently in the country.

Iraqi authorities have warned that Pakistani citizens could face blacklisting.This situation has led to embarrassment for the Pakistani embassy in Iraq.

Meanwhile, the FIA has indicated that family heads often return to Pakistan, leaving behind women and children in Iraq.

The FIA noted that many of these Pakistanis are from regions like Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, and Gujrat. Additionally, 66 women and their children have been detained in Baghdad for their involvement in begging.
