‘Cross-Border Love’ Pakistani Man Detained in Indian Occupied Kashmir After Crossing LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: A young man from Azad Jammu and Kashmir has reportedly been detained after crossing the Line of Control. He entered Indian occupied Kashmir without travel documents.

According to media reports, the man has been identified as Zeeshan. He belongs to a village near Muzaffarabad. He allegedly crossed into the Uri sector in Indian occupied Kashmir to meet a woman.

The woman has been identified as Iram Bano. Reports suggest the two were in contact before the incident. Zeeshan reportedly crossed the LoC to meet her in person.

Security forces in Indian occupied Kashmir later detained both individuals. Indian authorities stated that the man was arrested during a routine security check in the Uri sector.

Officials also confirmed that the woman was taken into custody for questioning. This step was taken after her contact with the man came under investigation.

The incident has drawn attention due to the sensitive nature of the border area. Movement across the Line of Control is strictly restricted under security protocols.

Authorities in Indian occupied Kashmir have not released further details about the case. Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the circumstances of the crossing.

Meanwhile, diplomatic sources confirmed that Pakistan has taken up the matter with Indian authorities. The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi has formally requested consular access.

Officials said the request aims to allow contact with the detained citizen. It may also help verify his identity and ensure legal assistance is provided.

The situation continues to develop as both sides follow diplomatic and legal procedures. No additional statements have been issued regarding the condition or status of the detainees.
