Pakistani security forces have killed 13 terrorists in a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan’s Sararogha area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday. The operation, which was based on critical intelligence reports, targeted a known location of militants, resulting in the deaths of the terrorists.
The ISPR highlighted that the militants, identified as khwarij, had been involved in various terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians. Following the operation, Pakistani troops have initiated a sanitization process in the area to ensure that any remaining militants are neutralized.

This operation follows a tragic encounter on December 21, when 16 soldiers of Pakistan’s security forces were martyred, and eight militants were neutralized during a fierce exchange of fire in South Waziristan’s Makeen district. The confrontation occurred after militants attempted to attack a security checkpoint during the night of December 20-21. The Pakistani forces managed to thwart the attack, but the bravery of the soldiers came at the cost of their lives.
Pakistani security forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eliminating the threat of terrorism and ensuring peace and stability in the region, according to the ISPR statement.
