Islamabad hosted a vibrant celebration of International Greek Language Day, bringing together students from across the country. The event was organized by Roots International Schools & Colleges in collaboration with the Embassy of Greece.
Greek Ambassador to Pakistan, Eleni Porichi, emphasized the importance of language learning in promoting cultural understanding and global connections. She encouraged Pakistani students to explore the Greek language, history, and education opportunities in Greece. The ambassador also highlighted that studying in Greek universities offers both academic and cultural growth.
The event, themed “Compete. Converse. Celebrate Greek,” included interactive activities, dialogues, and cultural performances. Pakistani students participated enthusiastically, showcasing talents in language-based competitions and performances that reflected shared values between Pakistan and Greece.
Walid Mushtaq, CEO of Roots International Schools & Colleges, said the competition strengthens cultural exchange and people-to-people links. He added that such events prepare Pakistani students for future academic collaborations and global opportunities.
In line with UNESCO’s declaration of 9 February as World Greek Language Day, Ambassador Porichi also distributed tablets to the participating students. The initiative aims to enhance awareness of Greek culture and its global significance, encouraging young learners to engage with international education and cultural experiences.
