Pakistan’s First Colorectal Cancer Patient Receives Life-Saving Liver Transplant

In a historic medical breakthrough, a young woman from Karachi has become Pakistan’s first colorectal cancer patient to successfully undergo a living donor liver transplant. The life-saving surgery was performed at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, marking a significant milestone in the country’s healthcare history.

The patient had endured multiple surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy, but her condition continued to deteriorate as the cancer ravaged her liver. With conventional treatments failing, doctors made the bold decision to remove her entire cancer-affected liver and replace it with a portion of her husband’s liver.
