Sri Lankan veterinary expert Dr. Buddhika Bandara is leading their care during a 17-day visit, supervising a new local treatment plan that requires over 400 pills daily.

To aid their recovery, both elephants are under round-the-clock medical watch, and public access has been restricted to minimize stress.
