New Petrol and Diesel Prices Announced in Pakistan - Check Here

Islamabad โ€“ The government has decided to keep petrol and high-speed diesel prices unchanged for the upcoming week, despite rising global oil rates. Petrol will continue to be sold at Rs321.17 per litre, while high-speed diesel remains at Rs335.86 per litre, according to the Petroleum Divisionโ€™s latest notification.

Officials confirmed that the government will absorb the financial impact of rising global petroleum prices, paying oil marketing companies the difference. This move aims to shield consumers from additional costs on petrol and diesel.

In contrast, the price of kerosene oil has been increased by Rs4.66 per litre. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) fixed the new kerosene price at Rs433.40 per litre, up from Rs428.74 last week. Consumers relying on kerosene will now face higher costs, despite relief on petrol and diesel prices.

The decision follows Prime Minister Shehbazโ€™s announcement to maintain fuel prices, with the revised rates taking effect from midnight and remaining valid for the next week.

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired a meeting on petroleum product pricing. Officials agreed to provide immediate relief if global oil prices decline. The meeting emphasized transparent, data-driven decisions and improved coordination between federal and provincial governments.

Authorities noted that the supply of petroleum products, including petrol, remains stable and sufficient across the country. They also reviewed proposals to implement targeted subsidies using technology, aiming to support low-income households.

Provincial representatives highlighted the importance of lifestyle changes and fuel conservation. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officials reported better oil supply management compared to other provinces.

Finance Minister Aurangzeb stressed that subsidy reforms are necessary to maintain economic stability. He instructed authorities to ensure that the public benefits from petrol price relief while managing the governmentโ€™s financial capacity responsibly.

With petrol prices stable, consumers can expect temporary relief, but officials continue to monitor global oil trends closely. Kerosene users, however, will feel the effect of the recent price increase.
