Need Fuel Relief? Here’s How To Apply For Punjab Petrol Subsidy Online

The Punjab government has introduced a new Petrol Subsidy program to provide relief to citizens. The scheme was announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. It aims to reduce fuel costs for motorcycle owners and small farmers.

According to officials, the Petrol Subsidy is already active for registered motorcycle users across the province. This step comes at a time when fuel prices have placed pressure on household budgets. The government hopes the move will ease daily expenses for working-class families.

Under the plan, motorcycle owners will receive Rs100 per liter subsidy for up to 20 liters each month. This targeted approach ensures support reaches those who need it most. Small farmers are also included in the relief package. They will receive Rs1,500 per acre to help cover diesel costs.

The announcement follows a major decision by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Petrol prices were reduced by Rs80 per liter, bringing the rate down from Rs458 to Rs378. This reduction came after a recent surge caused by global oil market instability linked to regional tensions.

Officials said the Petrol Subsidy program is part of a broader relief strategy. It also includes support for public transport and freight services. Buses and Pakistan Railways are receiving assistance to control fares and transport costs.

The government has provided several ways for citizens to apply for the subsidy. People can call the helpline at 1000 for guidance. They can also use the mobile app “Maryam Ko Batayn” or apply online through the official portal. Authorities have urged eligible citizens to register as soon as possible.

Maryam Nawaz said the initiative reflects her commitment to public welfare. She added that the government is working to deliver relief quickly despite financial constraints. Pakistan is currently facing limits on subsidies due to agreements with international lenders.

Experts believe the short-term relief will help control inflation pressures. However, they note that long-term solutions are still needed. The subsidy program is expected to remain in place for at least one month.

Overall, the Petrol Subsidy scheme is seen as a timely step. It offers direct financial support to citizens during a period of economic uncertainty.
