Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the launch of its pre-Hajj operation for 2025, beginning on April 29 and continuing through June 1. During this period, the airline will operate 280 dedicated flights to transport more than 56,000 Pakistani pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
According to officials, the national carrier will use Boeing 777 and Airbus 320 aircraft for these flights. Around 20,000 pilgrims will travel under the government’s Hajj scheme, while 36,000 will proceed through the private Hajj scheme.

PIA’s post-Hajj operation will begin on June 12 and continue until July 10, ensuring the safe return of all pilgrims. Authorities have assured that special arrangements have been made to deliver a smooth and timely travel experience for all passengers.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken serious notice of a reduction in the private Hajj quota for 2025. He has ordered an inquiry and formed a three-member committee to identify those responsible for the lapse in coordination with Saudi authorities.
