The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences has declined to release medical details about Imran Khan. The former prime minister was examined at the Islamabad hospital.
PIMS issued a statement on Saturday regarding the medical assessment. The hospital said Imran Khan arrived during the night of August 20 and 21, 2026.
Doctors conducted a medical assessment after his arrival at the hospital. Specialists from both PIMS and Shifa International Hospital participated in the examination.
Two specialists from Shifa International Hospital conducted the ophthalmological assessment. PIMS specialists handled the other required medical examinations.
The hospital said doctors reviewed the findings from the eye examination. They also considered the results of investigations conducted at PIMS.
The combined findings were assessed as part of the overall medical evaluation. A medical board later reviewed the available clinical information.
The board consisted of doctors from PIMS. It subsequently prepared and consolidated Imran Khan’s medical fitness report.
However, PIMS has refused to disclose the report’s confidential clinical contents. The hospital cited patient privacy requirements for its decision.
PIMS also referred to directions issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The hospital said these requirements prevent it from sharing confidential medical information.
The hospital did not reveal details about Imran Khan’s condition. It also did not disclose examination results or conclusions from the medical fitness report.
The decision comes amid continued public interest in Khan’s health. His medical treatment and examinations have also received political and judicial attention.
Imran Khan was previously transferred from Adiala Jail for medical assessment. The transfer followed a court order concerning his medical evaluation.
His treatment has remained under judicial scrutiny. The Supreme Court has also considered matters related to his medical assessment.
PIMS said it followed confidentiality requirements while preparing the report. The hospital maintained that patient privacy prevented further disclosure.
The hospital did not provide any additional information about the former prime minister’s health. It also did not comment on specific findings from the medical examinations.
The latest development leaves the contents of the medical fitness report undisclosed. Further information could depend on future court proceedings or official decisions.
For now, PIMS has confirmed that an assessment was completed. However, the hospital has withheld the clinical details from the public.
