The Prime Minister has directed authorities to continue strict monitoring of petroleum consumption across the country. The move comes amid rising regional tensions and energy market uncertainty.
A high-level review meeting on petroleum reserves was held under the chairmanship of Shehbaz Sharif. Officials reviewed the current fuel situation and future demand requirements in detail.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed that the country currently holds adequate petroleum reserves. Officials said supply management has remained stable despite external pressures.
He was also briefed that overall stock levels are adequate to meet short-term and medium-term needs. Authorities stressed that careful planning has helped avoid any fuel shortage situation so far.
The Prime Minister emphasized that monitoring of petroleum consumption must remain continuous. He said effective oversight has ensured stability and prevented any crisis. He also directed that relief measures for the public should continue without disruption.
Officials further stated that arrangements for future oil imports have already been finalized. They assured that supply chains are secured and ready to respond to changing demand.
The briefing also highlighted that maintaining adequate reserves will remain a key priority. Authorities noted that prudent usage of petroleum products is necessary to ensure long-term stability.
The meeting included senior government officials and key cabinet members. Among them were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and senior officials from relevant departments also attended the session.
Officials reiterated that the government is fully focused on ensuring fuel stability. They said the system currently has adequate safeguards in place to handle any supply disruptions.
The Prime Minister instructed all departments to maintain close coordination. He said timely action and strong monitoring are essential for energy security.
