Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of gas load-shedding during Sehr and Iftar, directing authorities to ensure an uninterrupted supply during these crucial hours of Ramadan. Following his intervention, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced a 10% increase in gas pressure to improve distribution.
An emergency meeting was held with top officials of SSGC and SNGPL, where it was decided that gas supply to distant areas would begin 30 to 45 minutes before Sehr and Iftar. Control rooms have also been set up to monitor and address low-pressure complaints on a priority basis.

Despite these measures, residents of several Karachi areas, including Liaquatabad, North Nazimabad, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, continue to report gas shortages. Many have expressed frustration over disruptions during Iftar, affecting meal preparations.
SSGC has denied widespread outages, stating that 95% of areas are receiving gas, while complaints from the remaining 5% are being addressed. Authorities urge citizens to report issues via the 1199 helpline for quick resolution.
