The Amman-based research institute released its annual report titled “The 500 Most Influential Muslims,” spotlighting individuals who have significantly impacted communities across the Muslim world.
PM Shehbaz Sharif was acknowledged for his leadership during his recent tenure, while General Asim Munir was celebrated as the first Pakistani Army Chief to be a Hafiz—a Muslim who has memorized the entire Quran—and for his pivotal role in military intelligence.
Controversy arose in Pakistan over social media claims by PTI supporters that ex-PM Imran Khan was ranked 24th on the list. However, he was actually included as an “honourable mention” under the rulers and politicians category, which is unranked. Claims of his 24th position are misleading.
The list also features other prominent Pakistanis, including political figures, philanthropists, and military leaders, recognizing their significant contributions to the Muslim world and beyond.
