Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Turkey for its steadfast friendship with Pakistan, describing it as a relationship that has stood “like a rock” through times of challenge and conflict.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad marking Turkey’s Republic Day, the Prime Minister said the Pakistan Turkey friendship is rooted in trust, respect, and shared values that have only deepened over the years.
He highlighted the growing cooperation between the two brotherly nations in trade, defense, and strategic affairs. Shehbaz Sharif noted that both countries are committed to enhancing economic ties and exploring new avenues for investment.
“Pakistan deeply values Turkey’s support in times of political, military, and humanitarian need,” he said, reaffirming that the Pakistan Turkey friendship continues to serve as a model of solidarity in the Muslim world.
The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude for Turkey’s consistent backing of Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir and Palestine, while assuring Pakistan’s continued support for Turkey on the Cyprus issue. He said both nations have stood shoulder to shoulder on global platforms, defending each other’s causes with unity and conviction.
Shehbaz Sharif further emphasized that the two countries share more than diplomatic ties — their relationship is strengthened by cultural, historical, and religious bonds that connect their people on a deeper level.
He expressed hope that this enduring partnership will continue to flourish, bringing prosperity, peace, and stability to the region.
“Pakistan is proud of its friendship with Turkey — a friendship built on shared struggles and a shared vision for the future,” the Prime Minister concluded.
