After Rising Tensions, PM Shehbaz Visits GHQ With Tough Message on Security

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited GHQ to review the current security situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. During the visit, the military leadership briefed him on recent developments and regional challenges.

The meeting at GHQ focused on cross-border security issues and threats linked to militant groups. Officials shared updates about activities affecting Pakistan’s border areas.

During the briefing, the prime minister directed authorities to adopt a strict and zero-tolerance policy against the nexus between “Fitna al-Khawarij” and the Afghan Taliban regime. He stressed that any cooperation between these elements and actions against Pakistan would not be accepted.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan remains firm in protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He made it clear that cross-border activities threatening national security will be dealt with decisively.

While speaking during the meeting at GHQ, the prime minister said Pakistan understands how to defend itself against any aggression. He added that national security remains a top priority for the government.

The prime minister also reaffirmed confidence in the Pakistan Armed Forces. He stated that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any challenge.

Shehbaz Sharif praised the professional capabilities of the armed forces during border operations. He acknowledged their efforts in repelling attacks and protecting the country from threats.

Officials informed the prime minister about recent operations carried out in border regions. According to the briefing at GHQ, security forces responded effectively to hostile activities and prevented further escalation.

The prime minister said the government and military leadership are united in ensuring national security. He emphasized that cooperation between institutions is essential for maintaining peace and stability.
