ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for Malaysia on a three-day official visit aimed at boosting economic cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties. PM Shehbaz jets off to Malaysia to forge New Trade, Investment Deals as Pakistan seeks to expand its trade network and attract fresh investment.
The prime minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the foreign minister, senior cabinet members, and top government officials. During his stay in Kuala Lumpur, he is expected to hold meetings with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and other key leaders to discuss trade, investment, and development partnerships.
The visit will focus on enhancing collaboration in key areas such as information technology, telecommunications, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and education. Officials have confirmed that several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) will be signed during the trip to promote joint ventures and business opportunities.
Before departure, Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that Pakistan and Malaysia share a long-standing friendship and that this visit would pave the way for a stronger economic partnership. He emphasized that both nations can benefit from shared goals in trade, industrial growth, and technology exchange.

A Pakistan–Malaysia Business Summit will also be held in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together entrepreneurs and investors from both countries.

Malaysia remains one of Pakistan’s top trading partners in Southeast Asia, and both sides are keen to expand cooperation beyond traditional sectors.
Economic analysts view the visit as part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to strengthen its global trade ties amid ongoing economic challenges.
