Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread Rain across many parts of the country during the next 24 hours. Several regions are expected to experience rain-windstorms and thundershowers, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated locations.
According to the weather department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeastern Balochistan are expected to receive widespread rainfall. Authorities have also warned people to remain alert as the wet spell could lead to hazardous conditions in several areas.
The PMD said heavy Rain may trigger landslides in vulnerable mountainous regions from Wednesday. Areas including Murree, Galliyat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir face a higher risk due to continuous rainfall.
The department also warned that heavy showers could cause flash floods in local streams and nullahs. The affected areas may include Kashmir, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, northeastern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, and parts of northeastern Balochistan.
Urban flooding is another major concern during the forecast period. The PMD said cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Peshawar, Faisalabad, and Multan could experience water accumulation in low-lying areas if heavy rainfall continues.
Strong winds and lightning may also accompany the weather system. Officials warned that weak structures, including electric poles, billboards, and solar panels, could suffer damage during the storms.
In Islamabad and nearby areas, cloudy weather is expected with intermittent rain-windstorms and thundershowers. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at isolated locations, increasing the risk of urban flooding.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to receive widespread rainfall in districts including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Battagram, Buner, Shangla, Kurram, and Hangu. Some areas may receive very heavy rainfall.
Punjab is also expected to witness widespread rain-windstorms and thunderstorms. Cities including Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and several nearby districts are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
In Sindh, weather conditions are expected to remain mainly hot and humid. However, rain-windstorms and thundershowers are likely in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Shaheed Benazirabad. Light Rain or drizzle may also occur in some coastal areas.
Balochistan is expected to remain hot and humid in most districts. However, Quetta, Zhob, Musakhel, Loralai, Kalat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Sherani, Kohlu, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, Ziarat, and nearby areas are likely to receive rain and thunderstorms, with isolated heavy rainfall.
Cloudy weather is also expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Both regions may experience intermittent rain-windstorms and thundershowers, while isolated areas could receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The PMD has advised citizens to stay updated with official weather alerts and avoid unnecessary travel in areas vulnerable to landslides, flash floods, and urban flooding until the weather conditions improve.
